L plater charged after fleeing police, authorities say
A Texas man was charged with escape after allegedly running from police Monday after allegedly stealing from a grocery store.
Tyler police officers said the 23-year-old, who police did not release Tuesday, said, "I want to go home. I don't want to go back to where they took me and that man did what he did."
Tyler police said the victim called 911 to report that a stranger approached him in a store on East Main Street and stolen some items.
Officers arrived and found the man holding up a receipt for $250. The man later went to an apartment building near the shopping center and stole items, police said.
Police arrested the suspect at the apartment. He was booked into the McLennan County Jail, but had not been released before police confirmed his name. His next court appearance is planned for Oct. 10.

World record attempt to highlight domestic violence in sports is one of the main reasons behind the launch of the Sport Against Violence campaign in November 2015.
SVV has been launching its campaign in several cities across the country - including Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane - in order to raise public awareness about domestic violence in sport. The campaign is a result of a series of events including the launch of the annual Melbourne Cup in December 2015, a women's sports day in Victoria in April 2016 and this year the launch of Women's Sport Against Violence (WSAV) Day.
In addition to the Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane events, SVV has also launched the Women's Soccer Against Violence (WSAV) day in Sydney from 1 October 2016 to 16 March 2016, on and off-season events of the Victoria Olympic Games, in Victoria.
In November 2015, the NSW Government commissioned the Australian Sportswriters' Association to conduct a consultation on how to best raise awareness about domestic violence and its impacts in sports.
SVV is supporting this consultation to raise awareness, but does not believe the Government should take a lead on this area.
The National Sports Committee of Victoria has supported the launch of SVV and is actively working with the Victorian Sports Council to raise awareness of this issue within the sports community.

Peter's crew explained that he did not look a bit different. It was a fun show and it went really well, so they asked if they could come back the next day.
My crew, in what appeared to be very professional manner, came back on Monday morning and Peter was given a big yellow t-shirt with a little sign saying "Don't forget to buy me coffee at 11,000p" and the rest of it is true what we've said about Peter.
Peter is currently in London rehearsing for a concert with fellow musician Jimi Hendrix and bandmates in the city on 19 February, with his show slated for 2 June.

There is, however, an increasing movement to take advantage of technologies that have been scientifically proven not to work, but instead that offer significant breakthroughs. For many, such breakthroughs are being pushed towards the heart-centered practices of hypnotherapy and meditation, and even psychedelics.
As it turns out, I don't mean to suggest that these technologies will always go unappreciated, since they can be tremendously powerful tools for bringing healing to a vast array of people, with varying stages in life, from young and na??ve children to older adults. But I do wish that the increasing recognition that these techniques are not only safe and effective when applied to particular situations, but that they are not merely technology tools for those who need them for their own spiritual or personal healing, but actually have a greater impact on the wider world, is perhaps taking more of a hold.
How did you come to work in this area of personal growth?
There is one thing that has always struck me in the work that has happened and continues to happen around this issue, which is the way in which it has been presented: It is a form of therapeutic therapy to work within a person's world, rather than simply having a person learn a certain thing at a particular stage. It has a lot of potential, of course, in terms of encouraging and facilitating the transformation of the way we perceive what is happening, but it is also true that the focus of these practices is, rather than what actually causes the world to change, which is what the therapies aim to address, the focus of these practices is what is causing us to change.
In the end, this focus on changing the state of the mind ?€” and, to be more precise, the state of the person ?€” is what I want to see. Arrest made in sizzler poisoning case against 'former police officer'
The family of a former Police Constable in the Chicago suburb of Woodridge was relieved of police custody Thursday after prosecutors agreed to drop charges against her.
The U.S. Attorney's Office in Illinois announced it would drop the investigation of Lisa Delgard, 53, a former Woodridge resident.
According to media reports, Delgard, a mother of five, was arrested Wednesday, Oct. 20, after her ex-husband identified her as the person who had put him up to the murder, according to a probable cause statement for Delgard's arrest.
Two weeks before she was arrested, Delgard had received a report that her ex-husband had been drinking alcoholic beverages, which led to his being involuntarily committed to a psychiatric facility. Delgard was then released a short time later.
Delgard, a former law-enforcement officer, is accused of concocting a story to convince the public she was not the culprit in the shooting death of her husband, who had been killed by his own children, who believed he had been the target of an assault.
On Wednesday, a federal grand jury issued the order for Delgard to be held without bail and ordered her to not contact the family of her ex-husband.
Federal agents later made an arrest in the shooting.
U.S. Attorney James G. Comey said the investigation into Delgard's "inconvenience" is continuing, which will result in additional charges. He said Delgard has admitted her involvement, but is also cooperating with investigators.
The family's statement of defense says that Delgard, who worked for the Police Department's Criminal Investigative Services Unit, was employed by the Woodridge Police Department for 10 years before she left that agency in May 2012 to run for the Woodridge City Council.
The statement of defense says that there has been a "history of violence in the home" of Delgard's husband "which continues to this day."
"She has a reputation as being a very active police officer for nearly a decade and a half that has brought her disgraceful past into the spotlight, but she has a legitimate claim to the title of being the victim of an unjustified murder, not some misguided conspiracy theory," the statement of defense reads.
Degard is not charged for the death of her husband, according to the release.
The family had filed for a bail hearing for Delgard Wednesday afternoon.
Degard also denied any responsibility for the shooting.

Vic liberals to boost rural hospital funding
"The problem with funding for health services is a lack of access," she said. "It's in the hands of those who want it.... That's what we're talking about."
The federal government can fund an additional $1 billion in 2016 to help build 13 hospitals over two years, with the expectation that those hospitals will close the gap between their projected demand for primary care and patient demand, she said. The rise of a female kickboxer is a bit sad because for all the talk of her'macho prowess' she has never really enjoyed the spotlight in her own right. She has yet to achieve anything more than a token performance in her home country of Australia, and was largely ignored by the sport itself. She is now one of a handful of women to have won at least one world title. Although, after fighting a few times, she managed to win a bronze medal in 2015 in Paris in the women's 100m, she had to fight for her spot a lot longer this year due to a decision loss to Liz Carmouche. It should be remembered that for most of her career she never thought she would reach such levels of dominance ?€“ she was only 18 when she fought for Australia. Yet now she is one of the most successful kickboxing fighters in the world. |

Rain helps boost murray allocations to 1.3 gigaByte per hour.
The murray scheduler has been redesigned to fit murray performance expectations.
Maury is capable of working with a variety of architectures, including the latest ARM processors, both 32-bit and 64-bit. A new patch was introduced that implements a new method for doing so.
murry: 4K benchmarks
The 4K benchmarks are now available at http://s3.amazonaws.com/murry-discovery-latest/benchmarks.jpg.
Murry now is running at the highest speed possible when using the best available hardware, supporting 32-bit and 64-bit systems.
You can now use the 4K benchmarks in a way you can still test the core code for correctness in your application, or even to explore the underlying machine code in the debug and release builds of the Murray-3.2 branch. This includes running those benchmark builds on multiple architectures simultaneously. There is also an easy way to test all your hardware in a build by simply adding -n on every line of your application to the end of the line of code when it is invoked.
The 4K benchmarks contain benchmarks with various configurations for different devices; see the code of the benchmark suite on github or the file Benchmarks.
What happens when I run Murray?
I currently can only run murry on a single machine at a time, and I can not perform many of its tests using it. I am looking for a machine that allows it to test all Murray's core performance issues using the highest available hardware. For example, I am looking for a machine that uses 8GB of RAM to run 4K tests, at full speed.
You should be able to build a version of Murray that will run on any machine with enough RAM and allows for testing with an appropriate configuration, at least the following:
A 64-bit AMD FX-8320 running at 4.5GHz, and with 6GB of RAM
1,024 cores on an Intel Core i7 quad-core (4.4GHz clock speed), running at 6GHz
10GB of DDR3 RAM (4MB at the 4MB clock speed)
Running the 4K benchmark suite should be easy to do, so please use git diff to merge the code in this repository into the latest stable release of Murray.
There are some limitations with this setup. For example, testing Murray against more hardware in a single run requires a larger allocation of system memory and will not run as fast.

Search ongoing for missing tamworth woman and her son, who remain missing.
SUMMER ISLAND, NY?€” After hours of digging, local police confirmed Monday morning that they are still looking for a missing 31-year-old woman found dead in her New Jersey home.
"She is presumed dead and has not been located," New York Police Department Spokesperson Stephen Davis said in a written statement Monday afternoon. "In the meantime, her mother has been interviewed by police and her father is being interviewed by the family. We ask that if anyone has any information about this case please contact police immediately at 607-546-5500."
The discovery of Anna and her 5-year-old grandson, who were last seen on July 17, also prompted another woman to come forward.
Jennifer Beitel, 29, of Easton, New Jersey, told police she saw the two girls in a New Jersey City park, which led to her friend checking the area and spotting the bodies of the missing, 26-year-old Annika Hausler and 21-year-old Annika Hausler's 12-month-old grandson. She said the boy was covered in blood.
A police investigation revealed Beitel had given the boys her cell phone number at the time of the crime. As she searched for the two missing girls in Manhattan's East Flatbush neighborhood after the boy was found, she picked up the phone and reported that the two of her friends had been shot and killed. She also said she overheard another party attend the funeral of the boy's younger brother and the father and the mother, who was found shot to death along with her daughter's corpse.
According to the search warrant, Beitel told detectives she was walking along the street when she heard a noise and later noticed the remains of Annika Hausler standing outside her mother's New Jersey home. She had not seen Hausler since then.
"In her report of the sighting, she stated that she recognized the two of the victims, her mother and father," said Police Chief Ken Thompson. "During the investigation, the mother and the father have been identified as her and Hausler. No charges have yet been filed in that case."
